The mission of KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is to eliminate tuberculosis worldwide, through development and implementation of effective tuberculosis control strategies. KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation offers technical assistance to tuberculosis control in countries with high, medium and low tuberculosis disease burden (incidence and/or prevalence). We aim to offer our partners an allround support package. We advise national tuberculosis programs (NTP) on a wide spectrum of tuberculosis control issues, such as planning and budgeting, implementation, monitoing and evaluation, operational research, human resource development, laboratory network and drug management. KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation offers practical support with development of national strateguc plans, guidelines and financing proposals. In addition, we offer financial support and assist with gaining access to other financial resources. We anticipate that by 2010 our technical assistece for tuberculosis control will have developed in two directions: * The generalo approach to tuberculosis control. This generalist approach is unique contribution of KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation to the programme support. * At the same time there will be increased demand for specialist expertise and knowledge. To the specialist fields belong laboratory research and services, drug management, Human Resource Development (HRD), TB/HIV, multiresistent tuberculosis (MDR-TB), Public/Private Partnerschap (PPP), tuberculosis and poverty, and advocacy, communication and social mobilization (ACS).
