KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is very pleased to announce that the General Assembly of 26 May 2010 has reappointed by acclamation Ms. Dina Boonstra, Director of Bedrijfsondersteuning Lentis (formerly GGZ Groningen) as member of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Boonstra has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2006 and is beginning her second term of four years. She will retire by rotation in 2013.

New SHA President Joins Board of Directors as Member Ex Officio
The Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (TB Alliance) has announced the election of Dr. Maarten van Cleeff as President of its Stakeholders Association. Dr. van Cleeff will also serve as an Ex Officio member of the TB Alliance’s Board of Directors.
Extensive groundwork is being laid out for a new TB vaccine in clinical sites and research institutions across Africa. But all these efforts will be for naught if funding for Phase III trials of new vaccine candidates doesn’t materialize. The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation and RIVM have joined forces to establish DTLab: the Dutch TB Laboratory partnership. The initiative will be launched on October 15 at the second WHO Global Laboratory Initiative (GLI) meeting in Annecy, France.
DTLab aims to coordinate and improve the quality and effectiveness of TB laboratory diagnostic services. This is done in collaboration with partners in development countries and contributes to TB control in a significant way.
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation has been elected to represent the NGO constituency in the Coordinating Board of the Stop TB Partnership for the coming two years. KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation was one of the co-founders of the STOP TB Partnership in 1998.
